Michael Cleary was born on 20th of January, 1950 and passed on 19th of August, 2016 at the age of 66. Michael is loved and missed by all who shared in the remarkable story of Michael's lifetime.

Michael was the only son to Betty and Norm. Born in the old Private Hospital at East Gosford, and originally living in East Gosford in Victoria St…..and being the only child, only son, his mum and dad spoiled him….. Michael had a childhood of plenty…with his friends referring to him as ‘richy rich’.

Michael’s grandparents had a farm which is now the site of the Harvey Norman Building in Erina, and it was here on the farm he learned to shoot….and smoke! When mum and dad weren’t looking he’d take a puff from his grandfather’s cigar.

Michael spent much of his time outside……he had a cubby house he’d play in near the family home in Terrigal, which is now the site of the Star of the Sea…..and he roamed a bit wild, but always had to be sure to be back home before the street lights went out.

After his schooling at St Eddies and Terrigal Public he completed his apprenticeship in his father’s successful plumbing business. Three generations of Cleary’s have been in the plumbing business….beginning as FE Cleary and Sons, and later becoming Cleary & Cleary.
